The Lisbon Legal Forum reaches its tenth edition in 2022. Organized by the Brazilian Institute of Education, Development and Research (IDP), the Institute of Legal and Political Sciences of the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon (ICJP) and the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV), this year's event will take place on June 27, 28 and 29, under the main motto “Governance of the Legal Order in Transformation”.
Academics, jurists, authorities and representatives of organized civil society will be meeting at the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon (FDUL), in Portugal, to discuss challenges, visions and different models of legal systems present on both continents from a perspective of governance in continuous transformation. There will also be an online broadcast.
The Forum takes place annually with the purpose of discussing major issues of law in the contemporary State. In its tenth edition, an overview of the main concepts related to governance will be covered, including sub-themes such as individual freedoms, the crisis of democracy in global geopolitics and systems of government; global economic transformations, environment and sustainability; new technologies and challenges of the regulatory State.
The important collaboration between the three organizing entities of the X Lisbon Forum aims at the development of activities in their respective domain areas, aimed at improving public and private institutions in Brazil, Portugal and other countries. In this sense, the cooperation and dialogue developed seek to:
1. The joint promotion of activities aimed at improving organizational and management models, especially with regard to the governance of public and private institutions, with a view to administrative and logistical simplification;
2. Encouraging the exchange of knowledge, the search for innovation, and the production of new methodologies for projects and public policies;
3. The organization and implementation of outreach programs, as well as the discussion on topics of common interest,
4. Joint action in academic-scientific and research activities, in addition to diagnosing or alleviating the impacts of globalization and sociopolitical changes in the fields of crisis management, governance, taxation, and health, among others.
