ABOUT THE EVENT

The Lisbon Forum reaches its thirteenth edition in 2025. Organized by the Brazilian Institute of Education, Development and Research (IDP), the Lisbon Public Law Research Center (LPL) of the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon and the Center for Innovation, Administration and Research of the Judiciary - FGV Justiça (FGV), this year's event will take place on July 2, 3 and 4 and will have the theme “The Changing World – Law, Democracy and Sustainability in the Smart Era”.

The Forum takes place annually to discuss issues that challenge the contemporary State. In 2025, an overview of how technology and artificial intelligence reach different fields and the impacts on Brazil, Europe, and the world will be discussed. With cross-cutting themes, greater understanding is sought about the challenges that arise in today's world, such as climate change, human rights, public policies, international institutions, etc.

Academics, managers, specialists, authorities and representatives of organized civil society from Brazil and Europe will meet at the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon (FDUL), in Portugal, to discuss how the advent of the Intelligent Age has impacted relations between States, institutions, companies and peoples.
