The Lisbon Legal Forum reaches its eleventh edition in 2023. Organized by the Brazilian Institute of Teaching, Development and Research (IDP), the Institute of Legal and Political Sciences of the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon (ICJP) and the Center for Innovation, Administration and Research of the Judiciary of FGV Knowledge (CIAPJ/FGV), this year's event will take place on June 26, 27 and 28, under the main motto “Governance and Digital Constitutionalism”.
Academics, jurists, authorities and representatives of organized civil society from Brazil and Europe will meet at the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon (FDUL), in Portugal, to discuss challenges, visions, and different applications of technologies as a strategic governance factor to generate knowledge and innovation, in order to achieve improvements in society's quality of life.
The Forum takes place annually with the purpose of discussing major issues of law in the contemporary State. In its eleventh edition, an overview of the relationship between the main aspects associated with public management and democracy, as well as principles, platforms, methodologies, processes and digital technologies, will be covered. With cross-cutting themes, a greater understanding of the current debate on the assessment of the socioeconomic impacts generated by technological progress, together with social changes, is sought.
The important collaboration between the three organizing entities of the XI Lisbon Forum aims at the development of activities in their respective domain areas, aimed at improving public and private institutions in Brazil, Portugal and other countries. In this sense, the cooperation and dialogue developed seek to:
1. The joint promotion of activities aimed at improving organizational and management models, especially with regard to the governance of public and private institutions, with a view to administrative and logistical simplification;
2. Encouraging the exchange of knowledge, the search for innovation, and the production of new methodologies for projects and public policies;
3. The organization and implementation of dissemination programs, as well as the discussion on topics of common interest, methodologies, and concepts developed within the three institutions;
4. Joint action in academic-scientific and research activities, in addition to diagnosing or alleviating the impacts of globalization and sociopolitical changes in the fields of crisis management, governance, taxation, and health, among others.
